Rosehip Body Oil is acclaimed for its ability to reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles and improve skin colour and tone. The oil is also packed with molecules that are small enough to penetrate deeper layers of the Epidermis, improving moisture and collagen levels for drier skin conditions. Filled with antioxidants, Rosehip Body Oil also helps to reinforce the skin’s protective barrier from sun damage, pollutants and environmental stressors. It is prized for its ability to renew and add radiance to skin.

For centuries, the Andean Indians of Chile have relied on the nutritive and anti-inflammatory benefits of Rosehip Body Oil for traditional medicinal, skincare and hair treatments. The oil possesses a unique nutrient profile that is rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, making it a natural choice for moisturizers and hydrating formulations.

Our organically crafted Rosehip Body Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the Wild Rose shrub (Rosa Rubiginosa, also known as Rosa Eglanteria) found in the Southern Andes in Chile. When extracted, the oil is a clear liquid with a natural reddish-orange tone (or dark amber, similar to Cognac) with a slightly viscous consistency. As a carrier oil, its aroma is characteristically mild, however, herbaceous, earthy, almost nutty aromas may be discovered upon acute observation. The oil is considered a “drying oil” which means that it is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy feeling.

Our Rosehip Body Oil is not to be confused with the more commonly found Rosa Canina variety. Indeed, Rosa Canina still boasts an assortment of wonderful nutrients (containing only 7% less essential fatty acid content than Rosa Rubiginosa), rich in Anti-Oxidants and filled with Vitamins A, D and E, as well as Omega 3, 6 and 9. These all attribute towards Rosehip Body Oil’s favoured reputation for deep skin hydration, repair and regeneration properties for dry and aging skin. But there are several key differences beyond the superior 78% essential fatty acid content of our choice, when compared to the more commercially available Rosa Canina.

Rosa Rubiginosa, first of all, has a different nutrient base and lower levels of Omega-6 and 9, making it more suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin. Secondly, our oil also contains a natural source of Vitamin C and its main bioactive component “Tretinoin” (All-Trans Retinoic Acid, a derivative of Retinol), giving our Rosehip Body Oil its enhanced proficiency with acne treatment, its restorative qualities in tissue regeneration, its competencies with wrinkle reduction and pore-soothing, and overall boosting its performance as a natural anti-aging remedy.

Interestingly, Tretinoin is also used as a medication in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia and is orally ingested for up to 3 months to realize its benefits, even inducing Complete Remission (CR) in patients. Our Rosehip Body Oil truly contains a miracle component!
