The Crambe Abyssinica plant originated in eastern Africa in the Ethiopian Highlands (“Abyssinia”). However, recently it is also cultivated in the Mediterranean region in southern Europe as a spring crop too. Our organically crafted Abyssinian Hair & Body Oil is Cold-Pressed here in Canada from the seeds of the Crambe Abyssinica crop, a multibranched annually-growing oilseed plant in the Brassicaceae family.
Abyssinian Hair & Body Oil is a light and nongreasy natural seed oil that is coveted for its high levels of cuticle-smoothing Erucic Acid (an unsaturated C22 fatty acid). Abyssinian Hair & Body Oil is also rich in Antioxidants and Vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6, C and E), proteins and minerals which all promote healthier hair and skin. It is an incredibly stable oil due to the high amount of Omega-9 it contains and is a great emollient for dispersing nutrients into the skin when infused with herbs or essential oils.
Abyssinian Hair & Body Oil hydrates skin without leaving that oily feeling and it balances uneven skin tone and texture. Its fast absorption makes it ideal for oilier skin.
Cruelty-Free. Vegan. 100% Organic.

I am 39 and I have slightly aging skin. I have a very fair complexion and my skin appears both oily and sensitive. It’s smaller than I thought it would be. I gave the product a go following the directions. It seems to me you don’t really need to use very much when applying. I’m curious to see how long it will last for. It feels really nice though. This oil is light enough for quick styling.

Absolute best, and very similar to argan, except perhaps a bit lighter. Also cheaper!

I’m 34, and my skin is starting to age. my skin looks both oily and sensitive and my complexion is very fair. Argan oil is a bit expensive for me, so I thought I’d give this alternative a try. It feels really good too. I’d recommend abysinnian crambe for anyone interested in oils but also on a budget.
